VUser(s) Management
Virtual Users (VUsers) Management is the management of virtual users and includes several functionalities such as Pause and Resume of virtual users.
Pause VUser(s)
- To pause VUser(s) of a group, go to Dashboard > Actions.
- Select Manage VUser(s).
- This displays a VUser(s) Summary screen with the list of groups and the count of VUser(s) in different states (Down, Running, Sync Point, Gradually Exiting, Exiting, Paused, and Stopped).
- Group Name: Displays name of the group. Clicking on the group name shows the list of the VUser(s) of a group with their current state.
- Script Name/URL: Displays the script or URL used in a group.
- Down: The VUser(s) to become active.
- Running: The VUser(s) doing the operations during the test.
- Sync Point: A specific point where all the VUser(s) are waiting for a particular action on page, transactions, and others.
- Gradual Exit: The VUser(s) who have completed the current task and will exit the system.
- Exiting: The VUser(s) who are in the process of exiting the system.
- Paused: The VUser(s) who are in paused state and not performing any action.
- Stopped: The VUser(s) who have exited the system.
The following ways are available to pause the VUser(s) of a group:
- To pause all or a specified number of VUser(s) of a group at a time:
- Select any group(s) on the VUser(s) Summary screen and click the Pause button on the top of the VUser(s) Summary screen.
- Clicking Pause button displays a screen to either select All Users or Specified number of VUser(s).
- To specify the number of VUser(s), mention the number of VUser(s) to be paused and click
- Upon selecting OK, a confirmation message is displayed to confirm the number of VUser(s) to be paused.
- Select Yes to pause the selected VUser(s) or No to Cancel the pause process.
- Selecting Yes displays a pause success message on the screen.

- To pause VUser(s) of any group(s) individually:
- Click on any group name, which displays the VUser(s) of that group(s) under the VUser(s) list.
- Select individually one or more VUser(s) to be paused.
- Click the Pause button
available on the top of the VUser(s) List
- Clicking Pause displays the confirmation message to either Pause the VUser(s) or to cancel the pause process.

- Select Yes to pause the selected VUser(s) or No to cancel the pause process.

Resume VUser(s)
To resume the paused VUser(s) of group(s), the following actions are to be performed.
- To resume from the VUser(s) Summary screen:
- Select particular groups from the VUser(s) Summary
- Click the Resume button
on the top of the VUser(s) Summary screen.

- Clicking Resume button displays the confirmation message to resume the VUser(s).
- Select Yes to resume the VUser(s) or No to cancel the resume process.

- Selecting Yes displays a resume success message on the screen.
2. To resume from the VUser(s) List screen:
- Select the particular paused VUser(s) from the VUser(s) list.
- Click the Resume button on the top of the VUser(s) list screen.
- Clicking Resume button displays the confirmation message either to resume the selected VUser or to cancel the resume process.
- Select Yes to resume the VUser(s) or No to cancel the resume process.
- Selecting Yes displays a resume success message on the screen.
Manage VUser(s) Settings
A user can manage VUser(s) settings by clicking the Manage VUser(s) Settings button on the top-right corner of the VUser(s) Summary screen.
The following fields are available to manage the VUser(s) settings:
- Limit VUser(s) List to Maximum: Enter the maximum number of VUser(s) to be displayed on the VUser(s) list.
- Limit VUser(s) List Per Page: Enter the number of VUser(s) to be displayed on the VUsers(s) list per page.
- Refresh Interval: Set the refresh interval time to refresh the VUser(s) list.
- Timeout for Getting VUser(s) Summary and List: When the user performs any action and no response is provided by the backend, the action will be timed out after a certain period. It is applicable for actions performed on the VUsers(s) Summary and VUser(s) Lists
- Timeout for Actions: When any action is performed by the user and no response is provided by the backend, the action will be timed out after a certain period. It is applicable for all the general actions performed by the user.
Update VUser(s)/Session Rate
To update VUser(s)/Session rate, the following actions are required to be performed:
- Click the Update VUser(s)/Session Rate button on the top of the VUser(s) Summary
- This displays a screen with two settings – General Settings and Advanced Settings.
- Under General Settings, the following settings options are available:
- Settings: A user can select any group(s), and can manage the settings for the selected group through this option.
- Ramp-Up: A user can select any group(s), and select the ramp up mode. This will increase the number of VUser(s) in the system for the selected group as per the defined settings.
- Ramp-Down: A user can select any group(s), and can select the ramp down mode for the selected group. It will remove the number of VUser(s) in the system for the selected group as per the defined settings.
4. Under Advanced Settings, the following options are available:
- Remove users, which are existing in the system: A user selects any group(s), and selects this option to remove the VUser(s), which already exist in the system for that group(s).
- Remove users, which are ramped up and not ramped up: A user selects any group(s), and selects this option to remove the VUser(s), which are in the ramp up phase as well as not in the ramp up phase for that group(s).
Refresh Options
The following icons () are available on the top right corner of the VUser(s) Summary screen that allows a user to refresh the VUser(s) list.
- Stop Refresh button
: This option allows to stop automatic refresh of the VUser(s).
- Refresh button
: This option allows to refresh the VUser(s) manually.
Groups with Generator(s) – NetCloud
Pause VUser(s)
A user can select one or more VUser(s) to pause the VUser(s) of a group. To apply the required operation:
- Go to Dashboard > Action.
- Select Manage VUser(s).
- This displays a VUser(s) Summary screen with the list of groups and the count of VUsers in different states (Down, Running, Sync Point, Gradually Exiting, Exiting, Paused, Stopped).
The following fields are displayed on the VUser(s) Summary screen:
- Group Name: Displays name of the group. Clicking on the group name shows the list of the VUsers of a group with their current state.
- Script Name/URL: Displays the script or URL used in a group.
- Down: The VUser(s) to become active.
- Running: The VUser(s) doing the operations during the test.
- Sync Point: A specific point where all the VUser(s) are waiting for a particular action on page, transactions, and others.
- Gradual Exit: The VUser(s) who have completed the current task and will exit the system.
- Exiting: The VUser(s) who are in the process of exiting the system.
- Paused: The VUser(s) who are in paused state and not performing any action.
- Stopped: The VUser(s) who have exited the system.
- Clicking on a specific group displays the VUser(s) list of that group with the following details:
- VUser ID: Displays ID of the VUser.
- Generator Name: Only applicable in the case of NetCloud mode. In NetCloud mode, generator wise users are displayed in different states.
- Status: Displays the status of the VUser – Down, Running, Gradual Exit, Exit, Paused, and Stopped.
Table: User Status Description
State | Description |
Down | The VUser is down. |
Running | The VUser is running. Running VUsers comprises of active, thinking, and waiting users. |
Gradual Exit | The VUser is completing the iteration or action it is running, after which they will exit. |
Exit | The VUser has finished running or has been stopped, and is now exiting. |
Paused | The VUser is paused. |
Stopped | The VUser stopped when the stop command was invoked. |
- Message: Displays the VUser(s) current state.
- Location: Displays the location of the VUser.
- Current Session Elapsed Time: Time when a VUser state is changed to running.
The following ways are available to pause the VUser(s) of a group:
- To pause all or specific number of VUser(s) of any group(s) at a time:
- Click the particular group names.
- Click the Pause button
on top of the screen. In doing so, all the VUser(s) of these groups are paused.

- Upon clicking the Pause button, a message is displayed to either select All Users or Specified number of VUser(s).
- To specify the number of VUser(s), a user can mention the number of user(s) to be paused and clicks
- Upon selecting OK, a confirmation message is displayed to confirm the number of users to be paused, select Yes to proceed or No to Cancel the process.

- Selecting Yes displays a success message on the screen.

- To pause VUser(s) of any group(s) individually:
- Select the group(s) names which displays the VUser(s) of the selected group(s) under the VUser(s) List.
- To pause the VUser(s) of these group(s), select individually one or more VUser(s).
- Click the Pause button available on the top of the VUser(s) List screen.
- Clicking Pause displays the confirmation message to Pause the VUser(s) or to cancel the pause process.

- Select Yes to pause the VUser(s) or No to cancel the pause process.
- Selecting Yes displays a pause success message on the screen.
The following ways are available to pause the VUser(s) of generator(s) of group(s):
- To pause all or specified number of VUser(s) of generator(s) of any groups at a time:
- Select generator(s) of group(s) individually on the VUser(s) Summary screen.
- Click the Pause button on the top of the screen.
- Upon clicking the Pause button, a screen is displayed to pause all VUser(s) or specific number of VUser(s).

- Select All VUser(s) to pause all the VUser(s) of generator(s) of a group. Click OK.
- A confirmation message is displayed on the screen to pause all the VUser(s).

- Select Yes to pause all the VUser(s) or No to cancel the pause process.
- To pause the specific number of VUser(s), mention the specific number of VUser(s) to be paused. Click OK.
- On Pause success, a pause success message is displayed on the screen.
- To pause VUser(s) of generator(s) of any groups individually:
- Select generator(s) of any group(s) to display the VUser(s) of these generators under the VUser(s) list.
- Click the Pause button on the top of the VUser(s) List screen.

- Clicking Pause displays the confirmation message to Pause the selected VUser(s) or to cancel the process.
- Select Yes to pause the VUser(s) or No to cancel the process.

- On Pause success, a pause success message is displayed on the screen.

Resume VUser(s)
- To resume the all or specific number of VUsers of any group(s) at a time from the VUser(s) Summary screen:
- Select any group(s) and click Resume button on top of the VUser(s) summary screen.
- This displays a screen to either select All VUsers or Specified Number of VUsers.

- Select All VUsers to resume all VUser(s) of a group or;
- Enter the specific number of VUsers to specify the particular number of VUser(s) to be resumed. Select OK to resume the VUser(s) or Cancel to cancel the resume process.

- Selecting OK displays a resume VUser(s) confirmation message.

- Select Yes to resume of the VUser(s) or No to cancel the resume process.
- To resume the number of VUser(s) individually of any group(s) from the VUser(s) List screen:
- Select the VUser(s) from the VUser(s) list.
- Click Resume button on the top of the VUser(s) list screen.

- Clicking Resume button displays the confirmation message to resume the selected VUser(s) or to cancel the process.

- Select Yes to resume the selected VUser(s) or No to cancel the resume process.
