Run Time Changes (RTC)
Overview
RTC stands for run time changes and it denotes that system performs the changes at run time unlike the normal mode. In case of RTC mode, there is no need to restart the HPD. It reflects the changes at run time.
Using this section, user is able to perform the following operations:
- Apply run time changes at global level
- Apply run time changes at service level
- Add service at run time
Key pointers regarding RTC
- HPD is able to change all global, service, and template level configuration at run time without restarting HPD.
- HPD is able to change response at run time.
- HPD is able to add service at run time.
- HPD is able to add any parameters at run time.
- HPD is able to change file parameter data at run time.
- HPD is able to add callback at run time.
Apply RTC at Global Level
To apply RTC at global level, follow the below mentioned steps:
- Click the Run Time Changes icon
on the product UI home page.
- Click Apply RTC button. A dialog box is displayed to apply RTC.
3. Select Mode as Global Level.
4. Further, there are two radio buttons – Temporary and Permanent.
5. Upon selecting Temporary, the changes at global level are saved temporarily. System restores original settings after HPD restart.
6. Upon selecting Permanent, the changes at global level are saved permanently. After restarting HPD, the changes will not restore to original settings.
Apply RTC at Service Level
To apply RTC at service level, follow the below mentioned steps:
- Click the Run Time Changes icon
on the product UI home page.
- Click Apply RTC button. A dialog box is displayed to apply RTC.
3. Select Mode as Service Level.
4. Select the service(s) from the drop down list.
5. Further, there are two radio buttons – Temporary and Permanent.
6. Upon selecting Temporary, the changes at service level are saved temporarily. System restores original settings after HPD restart.
7. Upon selecting Permanent, the changes at service level are saved permanently. There is no need to restart HPD for reflecting the changes. After restarting HPD, the changes will not restore to original settings.
Apply RTC for New Service
Once user adds a new service (in RTC mode), RTC needs to be apply to that service for further processing. To do so, follow the below mentioned steps:
- Click the Run Time Changes icon
on the product UI home page.
- Click Apply RTC A dialog box is displayed to apply RTC.
3. Select the Add Service option from the drop-down menu.
4. Select the service(s) from the list of newly added services and click the Apply RTC button.
